The increase in both technical and office staff saw the company increasingly squeezed in the small office space on two floors in the centre of Hexham.

A new small development of business units taking place on the outskirts of Hexham came to our attention and we decided it was time to move. As the development was still progressing we were able to influence the design and implementation of the two units we had decided to take on. In late 1989 we made the move to our new office space in rural Northumberland - no parking problems here!

Our technical team were now handling a variety of jobs, further product development, bespoke designs and SCAN1000 configuration - sometimes all three in one job! Office staff had an increasing workload from agents, distributors and direct sales customers. Ultimately the diverse nature of these different areas caused problems - time spent in one area meant others being neglected and this proved to be an ongoing problem - which ones would produce the income necessary to support the staff?
