The DA1470 was restricted in capability with only limited I/O and no expansion facilities. We decided to take the design one stage further and create a moduler, expandable system, the HT1470. The design was based on the industry standard DIN 41612 Eurocard backplane in a 19” rack allowing us to use commonly available components. The basic system design was based on the DA1470 – a simple touch sensitive keypad and small LCD screen were included along with an optional thermal strip printer.
HT1470 included a range of cards all designed and built in-house.
They included (Click on card name to see an image):
-
Processor card. Based on the DA1470 design but with a backplane connector to allow for expansion.
-
32k RAM card, battery backed.
-
I/O with 20 digital I/O lines and a serial RS2323 interface.
-
Isolated I/O.
-
Specialised designs based on a universal Prototype Board.
-
A 16 channel analogue input card which was never finished.
