Hexatec Event Loggers are used to record system events as they occur.  These events can include, alarms, operator actions, warnings, errors, etc.  The information is normally stored to file in text format, this makes it easy to review event histories.  If more security is required, it is possible to use an encoded database file.

Event Loggers can output to:

bulletText File
bulletCSV File
bulletMicrosoft Access database
bulletOutput to a printer or serial port

Events are also displayed on a Status Bar which appears below the main display window.

Event Logger objects have a view window, which displays the latest messages received by the Event Logger.  The Event Logger view window can be displayed at any time and shows the last 20 entries in the form of a chronologically ordered list.

The Event Logger Creation Wizard will automatically create a display page for each event logger, which may be viewed at runtime.

Each Event Logger is also designed as an OPC source, so it is easy to route messages onto other objects or OPC Clients.

A default ‘System Event Logger’ object is always created and is used for system error logging.

Event Logger Viewer

The Event Logger Viewer is a self-contained application for displaying Event Logger text files.

Data is shown in tabular, read only format to allow easy viewing of the contents:
