Real world I/O can be accessed using:

bulletModbus protocols (Master)
bulletAllen Bradley Drivers
bulletMitsubishi Drivers Data
bulletOPC
bulletDDE
bulletCustom Serial Port

This extensive range of protocols supported allows SCAN1000v5 (or Saturn) to 'talk' to almost any shop-floor electronics; controllers, data-loggers, meters, weighers, software systems, etc.

Similarly data, included internal derived data such as Alarms or Calculated values can be automatically OUTPUT to other systems using:

bulletModbus (Slave)
bulletOPC (in-build server)
bulletDDE

Making the system suitable for 'Middle-Ware' applications where data conversion and aggregation is required.

Back Office Connections

Office systems (including Back Office) are easily accessible using a rich selection of database and online communications options.

Messaging support allows automatic dispatch of information to both email recipients and mobile phone / pagers through SMS systems, triggered on a wide variety of events such as; Alerts, Shift Reports, etc.

Web Page Servers allow managers, engineers, even customers, to view selected system display pages, using standard web-browser software.

Trend Historian Data is stored in a secure format allow data to be used for Audit purposes.  A range of data extraction tools are available to create reports in Excel and other applications.

Business Systems are normally based on standard databases.  SCAN1000 v5 can connect directly to a wide range of databases, including:

bulletSQL (and MSDE)
bulletAccess
bulletOracle, etc. (using ODBC)

The connection is bi-directional so data such as: customer orders, quality specifications, etc. can be passed directly to the Factory systems.  Similarly critical Business data contained in Factory systems, such as: production records, energy use, bulk material stocks, etc. can be passed to the relevant Business System.  This dynamic, error-free, data exchange ensures better integration and control within an organisation.
