SCAN1000 -Scada: Working with Time Triggers
SCAN1000 -Scada includes a facility to create powerful time triggers. Time events are created in the 'Schedules' object.

Schedule Timers are used to create time and period based events, which can be used to automatically trigger activities such as recorder updates, data calculations, file archives.  Most projects have Schedules configured if only to display the time!

A wide range of properties can be configured for each Schedule object. The most important properties can be found on the Schedule tab of the object property pages:

Schedule objects have two modes of operation:

  • Period (Run every) - for events that occur at a regular time interval.  The period can be milliseconds through to days.
  • Time (Run at) - for events that occur at regular times

In both cases time / date fields can be enabled and set as required.  This provides great flexibility.  The example above schedules a timer event every 15 minutes.  If 'Run at...'  is selected, the event will fire at 15 minutes past the hour.  Different time / date settings are available depending on which mode is chosen.

Events can occur continuously or for a predetermined number of times.

Schedule objects have a View which shows when the next scheduled event will occur.
